Howard KutzlerHoward is the Director of Planning and Economic Development for Bethlehem Township. He has worked for the township for 11 years and previous to the township he was a planner for the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission.

Robin Rivera speaks to the club about safe driving
Robin RiveraRobin is a former Pennsylvania State Trooper who retired in 1999 and is now president of her own company doing traffic safety and identification cards for young children and businesses.

Don Jones of the America on Wheels Museum speaks to the club

John Luhatsky talks about the seminar he attend which was sponored by the club
John LuhatskyThis summer John attended the seminar where he along with the other students developed the script, directed and in John's case acted in a production and an advertisement.

The Honorable Ed Smith speaks to the club
Judge SmithJudge Smith is a Navy JAG Captain, a recipient of the Bronze Star, father of 3 boys and a Northampton County Judge. He also is a past president of our club.   The Judge has presided over 122 jury trials since he was elected to the bench.

Jack Marrone tells a very touching personal story

Jack MarroneTwo of Jack's sons have mental retardation disabilities. He shared the fear of knowing one day in the future he and his wife, along with other loved ones won't be able to care for them later on in life. Jack expressed his concern that: "The last place anyone wants to be is not a place, but alone". Based on this concern he introduced the LifePath organization which provides a group home environment for people with disabilities.

B. J. Metz speaks to the club
B.J. MetzB.J. is a member of the Easton Rotary Club and is a member of a Rotaplast team that went to Venezuela to help children with cleft palates. Over the years he has visited several other countries to perform the same a similar service.

Dr. Frank D'Agostino speaks to the club
Dr. Frank D'AgotinoThe topic of Dr. D'Agostino's speech was the importance of Vitamin D3 to our bodies. Various studies have shown the importance of Vitamin D3 on the health of the cells and immune system.

Pastor Sue Ruggles returns to the Club meeting to speak
Sue RugglesSue is the Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Easton and is a former member of the Palmer Kiwanis Club so all of our members enjoyed seeing and hearing from her. Besides being a full time Pastor Sue also volunteers in the juvenile section of Northampton County Prison on a weekly basis.

Ms. Pamela Klass speaks to the club
Pamela KlassMs. Klass is from the Penn State Lehigh Valley Corporate Learning Center. Pamela gave a history of the Lehigh Valley campuses going back to the early days of the 1900s. In the beginning the university was providing continuing education courses in the cement and steel industry.

Scholarship winnersThe club presented scholarships to Samantha Kielar of Easton Area High School and Christine Baskwell and Cory Davis of Wilson Area High School.

Dr. Charlene Symia speaks to the members
Dr. SymiaDr. Symia, is Principal of the Easton Area Middle School. Because of the size of the school Dr. Symia has introduced the concept of teaming by breaking the large school into smaller groups. Dr. Symia and her teachers are focusing on the whole child and leading them on a journey of self discovery which attempts to create an environment where the students feel comfortable.
