Mythology of all cultures and a fascination with martial philosophies led to King Arthur, the knights of the round table and an array of science fiction and fantasy authors that had a strong impact on his life. |

| Hans Hoeflein talks about the life of Dr. Lee Serfas |
Dr. Lee Serfas joined the Palmer Kiwanis Club in April 1980. Lee is probably on the a few doctors that did not graduate from high school, did not graduate from college and did not graduate from medical school. In his last year of high school he began a program to become a medical doctor in the Army program where they need doctors in World War II. He went to Mulenberg College in their pre-medical program and before graduation he went to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia where he finished in 1948 and then to St. Luke's Hospital for his residency training. |

On January 23, 1968, the USS Pueblo (AGER-2) was patrolling the waters 14 miles off the coast of North Korea when their ship was seized by the North Koreans. Frank Ginther was a communications specialist for the Navy and a member of the crew. |

Randy is the Director of Employee Relations for Majestic, Inc. which has its main manufacturing and distribution plant in Palmer Township. The Palmer plant is 358,000 sq. ft. and employees 600 people. Prior to the construction of this plant there were five plants in the Bangor area doing what is now done in this one plant. Majestic is a division of VF which is the worlds largest appeal manufacture. |

Joann is the Executive Director of Meals on Wheels of Northampton County. MOW prepares 2000 meals per day to be distributed by over 1000 volunteers through out the county "So no senior goes hungry". |

Mr. Kramer is the principal of Notre Dame High School. During his career he has worked for four Bishops in advancing Catholic education. Because they don't have to deal with a school board they can operate their system like a business that is providing a top rated education for their students. |

Thanksgiving is a special time when family and friend gather to give thanks for what we have. Pat feels that we need to be thankful all the time and not just on this one day. As members of Kiwanis we should be thankful for our friends and the things that we do all through the year. |

| A tour of the Family Center at The Children's Home of Easton |
A new Family Center has been built since our last visit to the Home. The purpose of the Center is to allow families to visit the children and to have a comfortable space where the Home staff can meet with the children. |
